Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy are officially parents of two! The actress has welcomed her second child with her actor husband, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.
The Associated Press reports that Danes, 39, gave birth to a son in New York on Monday, August 27. She was spotted out and about in the city four days later without a baby bump.
Danes revealed that she was pregnant in April during an appearance on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show.
“I am pregnant. I’m seriously prego … I’m deep into my second trimester,” the Homeland star revealed at the time, adding that the pregnancy was “planned.”
“We’ve been wanting another kid for a while, and it happened,” Danes explained.
Danes and Dancy, 43, met on the set of the 2007 film Evening. They tied the knot in 2009, and welcomed their first child together, a son named Cyrus, in December 2012.
The Golden Globe winner told Us in June that she was looking forward to taking a break from work after she gave birth to her latest bundle of joy.
“I am definitely with child. No, I feel OK. I’ve been doing a bit of traveling and tap dancing, as I call it, which is my term for letting people know that I’ve been making work and encourage them to see it,” Danes told Us and other reporters at the Homeland FYC event on June 5. “Pretty soon I get to retire for a little while and just be pregnant, which I look forward to.”
Danes previously gushed about being a mom during a February 2013 interview with Elle magazine.
“I’ve always wanted to have kids, but I’m glad I didn’t until now. When I was thinking about [working and being a mother] originally, I was really nervous about it,” she explained at the time. “I think I would make a lousy stay-at-home mom. It just wouldn’t suit me. I feel so fortunate in that I’ve had this arrow-straight focus that I wanted to act.”
