“If it’s your first time coming to Nashville, you have to hit up Broadway,” Cavallari, 31, says of the famous strip, where “there’s always live music playing.” The Stage, which has hosted musicians like Miranda Lambert and Toby Keith, and the outdoor patio at Rippy’s are her must-visit spots. “This is our favorite date-night spot—it always has great drinks, and the food is incredible,” says Cavallari of 5th & Taylor, a restaurant she frequents with her NFL-player husband, Jay Cutler, 34, who fell in love with the city when he was a star quarterback at Vanderbilt University.
On March 27, jewelry designer Cavallari is opening the first stand-alone store for her line Uncommon James, which will also offer a new line of home decor. “It’s in the Gulch shopping area, five minutes from downtown. It couldn’t be more perfect in terms of location,” she says.
The family-owned bakery is famous for its 100-layer donut. “They’re the best I’ve ever had,” she raves. “They also have paleo donuts if you don’t want to go completely overboard.”
Arrington Vineyards is a hidden gem, around a 40-minute drive from downtown, and has wine-tasting experiences that start at just $7. “It’s such a great destination for a bachelorette or a girls’ trip,” says the Hills alum.
“Not only is it absolutely adorable — the décor is right up my alley — but the food is incredible,” she says of Cafe Roze. “My kids love it, we take them every Saturday or Sunday without fail.” Cavallari says sons Camden, 5, and Jaxon, 3 like to split the waffles, while daughter Saylor, 2, prefers eggs with tomatoes and avocado.
“It has an incredible view,” she says of the luxury boutique hotel. “It’s a place I like to take out-of-town guests because you get a real sense of Nashville.”
Cavallari favors no-frills cafe Barista Parlor for work meetings or a quick caffeine fix. “It’s really cozy,” she says. “And it’s a legit coffee place. If you’re going for the froufrou drinks, this is not your spot.”
“I love that [Kokos Ice Cream] is made with coconut milk. My entire family is sensitive to cow’s milk, so this is a great option for us and it’s just as good as any other ice cream,” she says. “My kids and I are all mint chocolate chip fans and Jay is typically a peanut butter chocolate kind of guy.”
