In a recent Instagram post, Arenas slammed Khalifa for a series of direct messages she sent the athlete from October 2 to 6. “@miakhalifa would slide in my dm #fortheD,” Arenas wrote under a screenshot of Khalifa’s messages.
Khalifa has become known as quite the internet troll this year, beginning with her call-out of Chad Kelly after he took the title of “Mr. Irrelevant”—the unofficial name given to the last draft pick—in this year’s NFL Draft. “Shoulda spent more time in your playbook and less time in my DMs,” she tweeted alongside a screenshot of Kelly’s private messages.
Chicago Cubs catcher William Contreras was her next victim. Khalifa—like she did with Kelly—called out Contreras for his repeated attempts to contact her via direct messaging.
But is Khalifa losing her touch? Recently she’s been the one getting trolled, starting with Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield rejecting Khalifa’s very forward offer of an apparent booty call.
Arenas is the most recent guy to publicly slam Khalifa, this time in a style most similar to her own. In Khalifa’s defense, she did go about messaging him in a polite manner; Arenas’ slam feels a little too much like he was just trying to jump on the Khalifa slam train. Never one to back down, Khalifa retaliated to the post with a tweet. Grab your popcorn.
