Instagram Basically Hugged this Mother of Triplets Who Posted a Photo of Her Postpartum Tummy

If you’ve ever doubted whether there’s any good left in this world, the people of Instagram have stepped it up to restore your faith: Earlier this week, when mother of four Maria Nordø Jørstad, 36, (@triplets_of_copenhagen) posted a photo of her belly four weeks after delivering triplets via c-section, her followers chimed in to deliver love and support with comments like, “You are incredible!”

#postpartumbody ⠀ 4 weeks after the birth of my triplets. 👶🏼👶🏼👶🏼 ⠀ I still have a weird looking hanging belly, and I am a bit surprised it has not gotten smaller since my last picture three weeks ago. Kind of disappointing I must admit, and I am not too happy to share this picture. On the positive side the c-section scar doesn’t hurt anymore, and in the last two days I’ve almost felt like myself again! Except for this heavy sagging belly that is. 😆 I’ve been waiting for some belly bands that were shipped from the US several weeks ago, and they will finally arrive tomorrow. Can’t wait to try them on and see if they have any effect! ⠀ ⠀ #triplets #postpartum #impatient

“For me, it’s important to show an honest picture of what I’m going through as a mom to triplets,” Jørstad wrote in an email in which she explained what inspired her to post this photo in the first place.

In her caption, Jørstad, who is Norwegian but based in Denmark, voiced concern that her body wasn’t returning to its pre-baby state. “I still have a weird-looking hanging belly, and I am a bit surprised it has not gotten smaller since my last picture three weeks ago,” she wrote. “Kind of disappointing I must admit, and I am not too happy to share this picture.”

“On the positive side,” she continued, “the c-section scar doesn’t hurt anymore, and in the last two days I’ve almost felt like myself again! Except for this heavy sagging belly that is.”

In response, Jørstad’s followers turned her comments section into a bonafide pep rally, sharing more than 1,200 niceties: “You got this girl! It will go away in time…don’t push yourself too hard!” one wrote. And it continued:

“I’m blown away by all the support I got after posting my postpartum pictures,” Jørstad wrote in an email. “People I don’t know from all around the world have written the nicest things to me.”

Doesn’t everyone deserve this kind of encouragement?! Humans: They’re not all bad!
