She outlined her problem on a Mumsnet forum, to little sympathy.
She revealed: "Long story short, the pill is making me crazy. I can't use a lot of contraception due to severe migraines and don't want to use others for various reasons.
"So we are left with condoms. Only problem is standard ones don't fit the boyfriend and neither do the 'XL' ones from standard brands.
"Only ones we've found that do are from TheyFit/myONE and at almost £7 for seven I can't afford to be having sex!
"Am I just going to have to give up sex (definitely not risking another baby after an almost 11lb one earlier this year….definitely not considering that for a long time!)."
Initially other people made sensible suggestions including that she bought Magnun and Trojan condoms in XL, with one woman adding: "Ex is a magnum (these are a fave)."
This woman added: "They aren't really hard to find. Even the NHS shop sells XL condoms. Gum clinics usually have a good selection so you can try different brands."
But the conversation quickly escalated with people suggesting there might be something wrong with her partner – and he might be "deformed".
The NHS confirmed "a condom can stretch to 18 inches round."
"You know any condom can stretch to fit over an entire fist?" said one Mumsnetter.
"Your BF [boyfriend] must be deformed if he is bigger than that."
Another woman added: "Back when I was young, stupid and didn't know any better we used to stick condoms over our heads and inflate them.
"If a condom can stretch that much then your DH [darling husband] must have an almighty **** for XL condoms to be too tight."
And another added: "A few years ago a photo did the rounds on the internet of an adult woman wearing a condom on her leg, pulled up to her knee. Anyway, condoms are reaaalllly stretchy."
