But it turns out that one Royal's "cheekiness" has proved a hit with Palace staff… and no we're not talking about Prince George.
According to actor Matt Smith, who plays Prince Philip in Netflix's The Crown, the Duke of Edinburgh is the secret favourite within the Royal household.
During a recent interview with Variety, Matt revealed: "In the royal house he's the most popular of all of them."
Ahead of his role in The Crown, Matt explained how "all the research I did found him to be brilliantly funny, very clever, very popular."
But not only is the 97-year-old "loved" by Royal staff, Matt even goes as far to describe the Queen's husband as "man of the people" who doesn't always adhere to Royal protocol.
Reflecting on Prince Philip's character, Matt said: "There's a sort of rebellion in him and a naughtiness and a cheekiness."
"I think he's quite affable and open by all accounts with the staff. They all love him."
Talk about high praise.
Of course, fans of the show will already be familiar with how Philip has struggled with restrictive Royals rules.
Royal biographer Gyles Brandreth reports that Prince Philip referred to himself as "the only man in the country not allowed to give his name to his own children" when Mountbatten was considered an inappropriate surname for the Royal family.
However since Prince Philip retired from public life in 2017, the Duke of Edinburgh still hasn't found the time to catch up on the first two seasons of The Crown.
During a recent dinner party with one of Matt's fellow actor friends, Prince Philip apparently said "don't be ridiculous' to the suggestion that he catch up on the Royal drama.
A response Matt "thought was very good" and in keeping with the Duke's cheeky sense of humour.
But all is not lost as the Queen has "apparently" tuned in to the hit series and is believed to be a fan. Unsurprising really.
And if Prince Philip is anything like Matt Smith in The Crown, we're not in the least surprised he's a Palace favourite tbh.
