Street seen

I AM IN Brunswick Street, Fitzroy.

I AM AN aspiring artist.

I AM WEARING all second-hand. I believe that clothes have a memory. When you get something second-hand it has so many stories. I just love wearing all these stories. This red top is from an op shop on Sydney Road. This referee jersey is from an op shop on Brunswick Street. I found this green skirt in a suitcase of old ’80s and ’90s clothes in the basement of a house I was squatting in. It’s part of a suit. I fell in love with the pattern and the colour. My handbag and sunnies are from the Abbotsford Salvos. My shoes are from Camberwell Market.

MY STYLE IS pretty complex, because I think I’m a complex human being. I don’t wear the same outfit more than once because I’m evolving all the time.

I ADMIRE THE STYLE OF people I see on the street. I am careful to look at how people are dressed. But I’m also inspired by buildings, cars, nature – everything is just so inspiring.

MY FAVOURITE PLACES TO SHOP are op shops. I can walk into any op shop and find something because I see the potential in everything.

MY BIGGEST FASHION MISTAKE WAS … I don’t believe in mistakes.

WHEN I WAS A KID I WORE … I was a crazy child. I went through so many phases, from all pink to all black emo. For a time, I wore only men’s clothes.

I WOULD NEVER BE CAUGHT DEAD IN … I can’t imagine something I wouldn’t wear.
