Queen Elizabeth Just Got Her Glammest Portrait Yet

All hail! Queen Elizabeth II is Britain’s longest reigning monarch with her nearly seven decades on the throne, so it’s no surprise she’s had a portrait or two painted in her honor. In fact, the 92-year-old monarch has unveiled a couple new pieces of art depicting her likeness in the last two months alone that shows she’s still one of the most stylish royals around.

Her Majesty invited artist Stuart Brown and members of the Royal Air Force to Windsor Castle on Friday, November 30, for the unveiling of Brown’s portrait of the Queen commissioned by the RAF Regiment to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

The artist captured Elizabeth sitting at a desk in powder blue dress with a warm smile on her face, but we couldn’t help but notice her strong accessories game. To complement her simple sheath, the Queen rocked her wedding ring, a double strand of pearls, matching earrings and a watch. She also sports a brooch specially made for her by the RAF Regiment, which shows the Astral Crown and crossed Lee Enfield rifles.

And there’s more where that came from. Last month, the monarch hosted members of the Royal Air Force Club at Windsor Castle to celebrate the group’s centenary and view yet another portrait that was commissioned in her honor.

The particular painting made headlines for showing the nonagenarian with one of her most trusty accessories — her black Launer London handbag. The purse sits prominently at the foot of Elizabeth’s regal gold chair and next to her black block heels (another one of her go-to add-ons). It’s an apropos addition to the portrait considering she’s been carrying bags by the brand since she first received one in 1968.

Like the latest work, the Queen is pictured wearing a light blue frock with her wedding ring on display, but instead of the double pearls, she opted for a triple strand. Matching earrings once again completed the look.

So while we may wax poetic about Kate Middleton being the queen of hair accessories and Meghan Markle’s A-plus jewelry game, there is no denying that Queen Elizabeth’s style — IRL and otherwise — is in a league of its own.
