Our Yorkshire Farm viewers stunned by mum’s nine VERY free-range children

Amanda Owen, who refers to her nine kids as "feral", has become an unlikely social media star in recent years – with 44,000 followers on her Twitter page The Yorkshire Sheperdess.

Now she's invited the cameras into her family home, a 2,000 acre farm north of the Yorkshire Dales, where temperatures have been known to plummet to -10C.

Amanda and husband Clive, who have a 21-year age gap, have a flock of more than 1,000 sheep to tend to.

This is as well as raising kids Raven, 17, Reuben, 15, Miles, 13, Edith, 10, Violet, eight, Sidney, seven, and Annas, five, Clemmy, three, Nancy, two.

And no-one gets out of working on the farm, even the toddlers – who could be seen battling the elements during a very snowy winter on tonight's show.

With her two-year-old daughter Nancy strapped on her back as she tended to the animals in the snow, Amanda said: "During the week, when the big ones are at school, we all have to come out."

The older kids go to school a two-hour bus ride away, while the nearest maternity hospital is also a two-hour drive.

Amanda delivered baby number eight, Clemmy, herself in front of the living room fire – after giving birth to five of her kids in a car or ambulance.

"This is the norm, life is outside," she told the cameras. "It's quite difficult getting stuff delivered, so we try to be as self-sufficient as possible."

But Clive added: "You've got to be careful out here with kids, because it's cold, you can only push them so far."

In more parenting news, an off-grid mum whose toddler weed on This Morning has sparked fury for not vaccinating her kids.

While these are the most popular baby names of 2018… including some new additions.

Our Yorkshire Farm is on Channel 5 on Tuesdays at 8pm.
