The star-studded bash, which was held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, kicked off in spectacular fashion as celebrities from music, TV and film dazzled on the red carpet.
STYLE HITS
JLo looked sizzling in a hot pink Georges Chakra gown with a plunging neckline, panelled back and thigh-high split.
The 49-year-old singer accessorised the bold look with black accessories, and played up to the cameras as she toyed with the dress' cape.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift rocked retro chic in a long-sleeved metallic Balmain mini dress and matching boots.
The Shake It Off singer, 28, who won awards for Artist of the Year and Favourite Album, pulled her light blonde locks into an updo and rocked dazzling square hooped earrings.
Proving why she's the ultimate diva, Mariah Carey, 48, wowed in a bespoke black embellished gown, which feature feathers along the hemlines.
Former High School Music star Vanessa Hudgens looked pretty in a blush pink Cushnie floor-skimming dress that had a plunging neckline.
The 29-year-old actress styled her chic black bob in a side parting and wore delicate silver jewellery.
Supermodel Heidi Klum, 45, wasn't afraid to flash the flesh in a daring Julien MacDonald gown.
The Project Runway star's dramatic frock had sheer crochet panels, fringing and cut-outs around the middle. She completed her outfit with chic black stilettos.
Meanwhile, Amber Heard dazzled in a glittering gold strapless dress and patent heels.
The 32-year-old actress flashed a lot of leg thanks to a daring thigh-high split and wore her dark blonde hair up in a 60's-inspired 'do.
29-year-old Bebe Rexha also opted for a Balmain design.
The singer wore a show stopping black and silver sequin gown, with daring thigh-high split and a timeless Marilyn-style hairdo.
And Justin Bieber's ex, Chantel Jeffries certainly turned heads in her strapless LBD.
The 26-year-old oozed glam in a plunge mini dress with side-zip detail and a jewel encrusted box bag.
STYLE MISSES
Unfortunately, not everyone hit the style mark. Cardi B turned heads in her floral ballgown, which featured a corset bodice and matching headpiece.
The 25-year-old rapper finished her OTT look with heavily embellished gold dangling earrings.
Meanwhile, Dua Lipa missed the mark in a white heavily ruched off-the-shoulder gown by Giambattista Valli.
The gown ruched in under her boobs and bum, before flowing into a train.
Host Tracee Ellis Ross opted for a blush pink trouser suit for last night's awards.
Designed by Pyer Moss, Tracee teamed the black and pink look with Louboutin's – and although the star looked incredible, we weren't overly keen on the OTT Jacob & Co choker necklace.
Camila Cabello also opted for a suited look on the red carpet, teaming a sweetheart neckline corset with black trousers and peep toe heels.
The 21-year-old later changed into a very OTT monochrome tulle gown by Armani Prive for a performance of Consequences.
One of the most bizarre looks on the red carpet was by American singer Poppy who wore a statement ruffled pink gown with cut-out mesh detail and a peculiar black latex face mask.

Rita Ora looked uncharacteristically demure in a grey 80's-inspired Giambattista Valli dress with puffball sleeves.
The 27-year-old Hot Right Now singer's fishtail frock appeared to swamp her petite frame.
Meanwhile, Ciara's DSquared2 dress looked a little laidback for a glitzy award ceremony.
The 32-year-old completed her outfit with skyscraper black strappy heels.
Brit singer Ella Mai, 23, missed the style mark in an ill-fitting powder blue suit.
While Tyra Banks's mash up outfit, consisting of a white shirt and glittery pink fringed mink skirt, failed to excite.
The supermodel, 44, completed her unusual get-up with a black hat, patent ankle boots and a leather waistbelt.
Also opting for a statement look was singer Halsey, who chose a strapless ruffled tulle gown by Redemption.
The 24-year-old teamed the asymmetrical dress with strappy black heels and a choker necklace.
