Considering Vanessa Hudgens stars in the new movie Dog Days, you might think she'd be on top of her dog-breed game. But when we asked her to play "Guess the Dog Breed" — one of nine things she tried for the first time, and a game we totally made up — one thing became abundantly clear: Vanessa Hudgens is only kind of good at identifying different kinds of canines.
She is very good, however, at playing Beethoven on the kazoo. Once she remembered how a kazoo works (ya gotta hum, not blow), the actor treated Allure's video team to a pitch-perfect performance of "Für Elise," crediting her childhood piano lessons for the accuracy. Alas, her musical skill doesn't quite carry over to playing the cello, on which she could hardly eke out a note.
It turns out Hudgens is also a veritable prodigy when it comes to giving Barbie dolls trendy haircuts. When we asked her to give one a bob, she initially found it challenging, saying, "Oh, wow! This is not as good as I thought it was going to be." But, after lamenting the texture, she managed to give Barbie a super-chic A-line style. However, that confidence didn't quite come through for her second hair challenge: giving a random (real) dude a haircut. The happy-go-lucky volunteer looks unfazed as Hudgens turns on the electric clippers and declares, "I've never used one of these before" — and he seems to accept his fate as the owner of a very questionable new mohawk.
