Twitter isn’t happy with Theon Greyjoy after tonight’s ‘Game of Thrones’

WARNING: This story contains spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 2, “Stormborn.”

In last night’s episode of Game of Thrones, we witnessed the first battle scene of Season 7 when Euron Greyjoy invaded his niece and nephew’s ships. He and Yara face off in a sword fight, but Euron ultimately dominates and holds her hostage with a knife to her throat, and goads Theon to save her. But rather than step up as his sister’s “protector” (that’s what Yara called him just a few scenes prior), he has a traumatic flashback to his tortured days as reek, panics, and jumps overboard.

Whether disappointing or understandable, Theon’s move came as a surprise, and Twitter wasn’t pleased.

And some thought of creative plot points for GoT to pick up from that scene.
