Transgender Jeffrey Tambor accuser not surprised he’s still working

An actress who has accused Jeffrey Tambor of sexual misconduct is not surprised he’s still working in Hollywood.

Trace Lysette, who is transgender, told Variety that Tambor’s continued work on “Arrested Development” with Netflix didn’t come as a shock because she never expected her complaints to have “weight.”

“No, because we’re trans,” she told Variety. “I’m used to people not wanting to believe us and being at the bottom of the totem pole. So our word doesn’t carry weight the same way.”

Lysette worked with Tambor on “Transparent,” which he was fired from following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. Tambor denied any sexual misbehavior but admitted he could be difficult to work with.

In November, Lysette claimed Tambor pressed his body against hers in a sexually aggressive manner and made inappropriate and unwanted sexual statements on the set of the show.

“He came in close, put his bare feet on top of mine so I could not move, leaned his body against me, and began quick, discreet thrust back and forth against my body,” Lysette said. “I felt his penis on my hip through his thin pajamas.”
