TOWIE’s Charlie King reconciles with Bobby Norris

‘I’ve had nothing but happiness for you’: Charlie King reconciles with Bobby Norris on TOWIE… as they meet for first time since he came out

The pair fell out back in 2013, causing the personal trainer to leave the ITVBe show for good.

But Charlie King and Bobby Norris have finally reconciled after four years of no communication, as the personal trainer made his fully-fledged return to TOWIE.

Their friendship had come to an awkward end when Bobby, 30, had declared his love for a then-straight Charlie – but fans were left delighted during Wednesday night’s episode when they reached out to each other once again.

Scroll down for video Embarking on an outdoor workout with his ex Gemma Collins, Charlie admitted at the start of the show that he had not spoken to his former best friend in years.

Deciding to take the plunge, the personal trainer sent a text to Bobby asking him to lunch, which he gladly accepted – resulting in their first face-to-face conversation since 2014, and since Charlie had come out as gay.Addressing the elephant in the room, the bearded hunk began: ‘So, I’m a fully-fledged gay man now.’

Admitting his time as Bobby’s friend had been tense as he battled with his sexuality, he explained: ‘I was a nightmare at the time, but I’m pleased to have got rid of that burden. It makes you limitless.’

However he went on to address why the pair had drifted apart, since he announced himself as gay, stating: ‘I just feel confused as to why its been so long, because we were so close.Recalling their close bond, which sparked rumours about Charlie’s sexuality at the time, he continued: ‘You’d stay at my house, we went to Spain together, you even told me you loved me… we went through it all.’

Clearly still hurt, having admitted to romantic feelings with Charlie, Bobby replied: ‘In all honesty, losing touch with you was so hard as I heard you’d publicly come out from strangers. I felt embarrassed I didn’t know.’

Trying to explain himself, Charlie continuing: ‘I removed myself from the Essex bubble and I am guilty of that. But I feel you’re still closed off and I don’t know you.’

Before adding: ‘I have reached out to you but I don’t feel like you have been that forthcoming.’Wanting to patch things up between them, Bobby then apologised by stating: ‘If I’ve made you think that then I’m sorry, but I had nothing but happiness for you’ – affirming the pair as friends once more. The scene was met with rave reviews from fans – who penned their delight on Twitter at both the return of Charlie and the potential for a romance between the pair.

One observed that the pair ‘suited each other so much’ while another added they had missed the duo together. Since leaving the show in 2013, Charlie has since trained as a personal trainer, and taken on a number of celebrity clients as well as his best friend Gemma Collins. He had been at the centre of rumours regarding his sexuality during his time on the show, despite becoming involved with a number of women and categorically insisting he was ‘not a gay man’ on the show. However after his departure, the hunk then came out to the world live on This Morning in October 2014.

Talking of the realisation, he said: ‘I had a girlfriend, she was the first person I spoke to and told. It was a proper relationship but I was very aware when I was seeing her thing weren’t quite right. If something doesn’t click, it doesn’t click.

Before adding: ‘I feel so positive about this.’After such a long-term friendship, TOWIE bosses are now reportedly hoping for Charlie and Bobby to embark on something more following the fitness fanatic’s return to the show.

A source told The Sun earlier this month: ‘Producers are hoping that the boys get on well and a romance develops.

‘They’ve got lots to catch up on and bosses hope the chemistry will be there.’
