Ryan Reynolds is known for being many things: a Hollywood actor, Blake Lively’s husband and father to their two young girls, and being a low-key hilarious tweeter, whose favourite topic is his family.
Here’s a sample:
My daughter loves being buried up to her neck in sand at the beach. Her little face lights up when I come back to get her the next day.

Being a Dad isn't just about eating a huge bag of gummy-bears as your wife gives birth. It means being comfortable with the word hero.

My daughter gets so pumped watching Disney films. She loves that they all have singing, dancing and a part when the parents die.

Many people have looked at Ryan’s Twitter feed as a rare source of insight into the A-list couple’s lives, as the two are notoriously private—the first time they officially brought their daughters, James and Ines, out in public, was when Ryan received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December last year.
But it turns out Ryan’s witty remarks, posted in 140 characters or less, are more fiction than fact.
In a new interview with Glamour, Blake said of her husband’s Twitter wordplay, “He may as well work for the Enquirer. When he says ‘my daughter,’ he’s never, ever talking about her. Everything is a completely made-up scenario. He’ll run them by me sometimes just to make me laugh.”
Even though Ryan is basically creating alternative facts about the family, Blake doesn’t mind. “But oh, I’m so in love with him when he writes that stuff,” she continued. “I mean, I’m in love with him most of the time, but especially with that.”
Most of the time? “I said, ‘Most of the time,’ because if I say, ‘I’m so in love with him all the time,’ then you get that eye-rolling, ‘Oh, her life is so great, she’s so perfect,’” Blake explained. “So it’s, like, my defence mechanism.”
Blake also shared how she and Ryan work through any issues in their relationship. “In other relationships, if something came up, I would call my girlfriends or my sister, and say, ‘Hey, this is what he did—what should I do?’” she said.
“Where with him, we were friends for two years before we were ever dating. And I treat him like my girlfriend. I’m like, ‘Hey, this happened. It upset me. This is how I feel. What do I do?’ And he does the same for me. He treats me like his best buddy.”
But back to the tweets. Blake’s interview makes sense. We didn’t really think Ryan and Blake would give their baby girl a mobile made out of contraceptives—even though we wanted to believe.
The mobile above my daughter's crib is just a whole bunch of NuvaRings. So she remembers how lucky she is.
