Ryan Reynolds and Richard Branson are teaming gin with travel and we love it

Sir Richard Branson and Ryan Reynolds have joined forces to bring together two of our favourite things; gin and holidays.

The pair have launched an exciting new partnership between their companies Virgin Atlantic and Aviation American Gin – but a new tongue-in-cheek video has revealed that Ryan may have bigger plans.

Sir Richard and Ryan sat down to announce the new venture, which will see Virgin Atlantic serving Aviation American Gin in its Clubhouses and on board its fleet.

However, there may have been slight confusion as Ryan proudly announces that they are "making corporate history" with a new merger.

When Sir Richard explains that it’s actually a partnership where the airline will serve the gin, Ryan quips: "Yes. At First."

In fact, he reveals his bigger plans for a new powerful business; AviaVirginAtion. Whether Sir Richard gets on board is another matter.

Still, the new partnership makes for an exciting venture for both companies, as Virgin Atlantic becomes the exclusive UK partner for Aviation American Gin, the latter which is owned by Ryan.

Speaking about the new project, Sir Richard Branson said: "I’m delighted Virgin Atlantic is working with Ryan and his team on this partnership. Aviation Gin was born out of a spirit of innovation, so serving it on board Virgin Atlantic flights seemed like the perfect combination."

Ryan Reynolds explained: "I’ve been a huge fan of Sir Richard Branson and Virgin for years. For Aviation to be chosen as the gin of choice for such an iconic and quintessentially British brand is a complete honor.

"We look forward to serving Virgin Atlantic guests for years to come and, on a personal note, Sir Richard has promised to teach me the difference between revenue and profit, so I am beyond excited."

And they’re celebrating the launch with a host of exciting events.

For a start, a selection of lucky passengers on board Virgin Atlantic flights on the 30th September will get a special mixology experience hosted by bartenders from some of the world’s best bars, from The Dead Rabbit in New York to Smugglers Cove in San Francisco.

Not flying any time soon? Then you may want to head down to London Cocktail Week from October 3rd-7th, when Virgin Atlantic will be trading its cockpits for cocktails at the Old Truman Brewery.

Gin-lovers can stop by for exclusive Aviation Gin cocktails such as the Employees Only’s First Blush or Black Tail’s Terminal A.
