Rihanna Declined Super Bowl 2019 Halftime Show in Support of Colin Kaepernick

Rihanna is standing by Colin Kaepernick.

The 30-year-old singer was reportedly offered to headline the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show, but turned it down because she “supports” the 30-year-old former NFL player.

“The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta,” Us Weekly reports. “They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”

Colin was the first pro football player to kneel during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial inequality. He has not played in the NFL since starting the controversy back in 2016.

Maroon 5 is set to headline the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime performance on February 3 in Atlanta, Ga.
