Peter Andre has been targeted by cruel trolls over the 16-year age gap between himself and wife Emily, with haters claiming he looks old enough to be her dad.
The 45-year-old singer came under fire after he uploaded a sweet picture of a make-up free Emily, 29, pouting for the camera.
"Mwah:) Thought this was a cute pic of her. She has no idea of course," he captioned the shot of the mother-of-two.
And while some fans warned him that she’ll go mad once she finds out, others were far more cutting and went in on the age difference.
"Nice but she looks so like your daughter rather than a lover – bit weird seeing the obvious age gap…." sniped one.
"How old is your gf Pete ? Lol x" remarked another, while one well-meaning defender dug themselves a hole, adding, "What a beautiful wife you have, the comments on how young she looks? Lap it up is all i can say. Beautiful young looking wife and Peter, i know your ancient now but still looking good for it."
The remarks prompted a slew of defensive comments from his fans, who were quick to point out that she turns 30 soon.
"She does look young but the fact is this isn’t. She is 29 years old. I really don’t understand why everyone feels the need to mention this," commented one.
A second echoed the sentiment, writing, "She does look very young but the fact is she is a fully grown beautiful woman! Obviously has good genes!"
Emily was just 20 when she met Pete, then 36, back in 2010 when her doctor dad was treating him for kidney stones.
Just a year out of his split from ex-wife Katie Price , Peter asked her dad’s permission to date her but they kept their relationship a secret until 2012 when she finally appeared on his reality show.
The following year Emily fell pregnant with their son Theo, and Pete popped the question just days before his birth.
Daughter Amelia followed in 2014, and the couple finally said ‘I do’ at Mamhead House in Exeter on July 11, 2015.
But comments about their age gap have hit Emily hard, with the NHS doctor recently revealing that’s why she doesn’t have social media.
“The downside [of fame] is people being nasty,” she told OK! magazine.
“In the past I’ve read people criticising me and Pete, whether it’s the age difference or our appearance, and I find it hard when people say I’m too young to be with him – my skin is not thick enough and I find it very upsetting.
“He’s in his forties and he looks great. He still comes home to me and gives me cuddles.”
