Neville drops major hit Man United will make big Deadline Day signing

Gary Neville has been teasing Manchester United fans on social media this Transfer Deadline Day.

The Red Devils went into the final day of this summer’s transfer window with one job on their mind – to finally, finally sign a quality centre-back.

In the weeks leading up to this Thursday the Old Trafford club have been linked with everyone from Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire to Yerry Mina, Jerome Boateng, and back to Alderweireld.

On Deadline Day the name of another defender was suddenly thrown into the mix, one Diego Godin, but alas, the Red Devils missed out on him too.

Manchester United were hoping to trigger the 32-year-old’s release clause, after being priced out of deals for the aforementioned players.

But Godin responded by penning a contract extension with Atletico Madrid.

As things stand, it doesn’t appear that United will be signing a centre-back after all, much to the disappointment of fans, and Jose Mourinho, no doubt.

Neville has other ideas however, and joked the Red Devils will be bringing in more than one man this transfer window.
