Mel B heads to divorce lawyer in fierce thigh-high boots

She means business! Mel B heads to see her divorce lawyer in fierce thigh-high boots as she begins to set her split from Stephen Belafonte in stone

She enjoyed a night away from the dramas of her personal life on Tuesday as she pulled on her glad-rags for the glitzy America’s Got Talent launch.

But Mel B was straight back to business on Wednesday, as she was spotted visiting a divorce lawyer in LA, in order to set her split from Stephen Belafonte in stone.

The former Spice Girl, 41, put her best foot forward in a fierce pair of thigh-high boots, as she headed in to the Beverly Hills establishment to discuss her divorce from the film producer.

The famous Scary Spice oozed confidence as she put on a brave face upon arrival at the destination, ahead of an undoubtedly taxing day.Dressing to impress for her appointment, Mel clad herself in a thigh-skimming white mini dress, which hugged her enviable figure all the way to its short hem.

Stealing the show however were her racy thigh-high boots – which clung to her long and lean legs with their chic grey suede material.

Remaining utterly co-ordinated from head to toe, the mother-of-three layered a thin silk jacket on top, which softly blew behind her as she emerged from her car.

She tied her look together with a sleek white leather handbag and a pair of retro rounded spectacles as she confidently headed in.

Slicking her hair into a tight ponytail to keep it off her face for the important appointment, Mel certainly looked ready and raring to start finalising her split from Stephen.

Mel filed for divorce from her husband, who she married in Las Vegas in 2007, last week – after a ‘moment of clarity’ following the death of her father Martin, who lost his battle with multiple myeloma cancer in March.

The star had returned to her home town of Leeds soon after to attend the funeral alongside her family – who she is believed to have reconciled with since announcing her separation.

The performer had reportedly been in a fall out with her mother Andrea and younger sister Danielle for eight years, over their dislike for ‘controlling’ Stephen, also 41.

Mel has yet to release any kind of statement about the divorce, despite reports focusing on her timing the proceedings well to protect her £40million fortune.

According to The Sun, the singer’s pre-nuptial agreement with Stephen ensures that the television personality and singer holds onto her £48m ($59million) wealth.

Meanwhile her decision to file at nine years and 11 months could mean that she is entitled to pay less spousal support to Stephen than if it had rolled over to their 10th anniversary.

The estranged couple are parents to five-year old daughter Madison, while Mel is also a mother to daughters Phoenix, 18, with first husband Jimmy Gulzar, and Angel, nine, with Hollywood star Eddie Murphy. To minimise the impact of the divorce on the children, TMZ wrote that Stephen and Mel have begun family therapy with their brood.Sources also claim that Mel wants to impose a gagging order, after being encouraged by friends to write a tell-all book documenting their 10-year marriage.

An insider told The Daily Star on Friday: ‘A second book would be an absolute sensation. Mel is a global superstar and has plenty more to write about.

Also, if she has incidents in her marriage which were less than palatable, then it would send out a strong message to other women suffering in difficult relationships.

‘Her family in Leeds is right behind her and think it would be a great idea for her to finally tell the world the truth about her marriage.’
