Meghan Markle: Does She Really Have a “Pregnancy Contract” With Prince Harry?!

Last month, the world learned that Meghan Markle is expecting her first child.

Obviously, this is an exciting time for Meghan and Prince Harry, but the Duchess and Duke of Sussex are under a great deal of stress, as well.

Achieving royalty status seems to have a way of making everything both more complicated and much simpler, and pregnancies are no exception.

Sure, unlike most pregnant women, Meghan has a staff of assistants at her beck and call and can basically work as much or as little as she sees fit.

But she also has the eyes of the entire world on her as she experiences pregnancy for the first time.

That means everything from her maternity fashion to the state of her “post-baby body” will be up for discussion for about the next year or so.

While this may be her first pregnancy, this is not — as the press loves to remind us — Meghan’s first marriage.

The first time around, Meghan was married to Trevor Engelson, a fellow actor and film and television producer.

While she obviously wasn’t nearly as famous then as she is now, Markle was still concerned about the scrutiny that would ensue if she were to get pregnant.

And so, she and Engelson signed a “pregnancy contract,” which guaranteed that Trevor would hire a nutritionist and personal trainer if the couple decided to start a family.

Now, this is one of those things that sounds downright bizarre to us peasants, and it’s not even customary in the celebrity world.

But it happens on occasion, and at the time she signed the contract, Meghan was no doubt aware that her future career prospects depended largely on her appearance, and she decided to protect herself accordingly.

Of course, these days things are very different for the Duchess, but still, rumors persist that she coaxed Harry into signing a similar contract before marrying him in May.

The fact that the royal family has been mum on the issue has only deepened suspicions that Meghan’s pregnancy is under contract.

Now, however, an expert on the British Royal Family has spoken out and denied the rumor by pointing out an obvious truth:

Meghan doesn’t have a pregnancy contract because she doesn’t need one.

“Meghan has no need for a contract with Harry, as she will not want for anything,” Duncan Larcombe recently told Closer magazine.

“lf Meghan has any requests, they’ll be met,” Larcombe adds.

“And Harry has already shown how protective he is of her. lf he wants to be by Meghan’s side after the baby is born, throughout her whole maternity leave, he’ll do it,”

Larcombe points out that like Kate Middleton, Meg will have access to an array of health and childcare experts and will give birth in a wing of a London hospital that’s been completely closed off for her privacy.

And it seems that if Meghan is unhappy with any of those arrangements, she’ll be accommodated accordingly.

Several outlets have already confirmed that a new nanny — recommended by Amal Clooney — has been hired at Meghan’s request.
