Lily Allen puffs on a cigarette in Notting Hill

Can’t muster up a Smile? Lily Allen looks glum as she puffs on a cigarette during low-key shopping trip

Lily Allen seemed in good spirits as she strolled around Notting Hill on Thursday.

Puffing away on a cigarette, the 32-year-old singer seemed chirpy as she headed home after browsing the shops.

Keeping her head down, the Smile hitmaker – who has been very vocal on her political views of late – kept her outing low-key.

Sweeping her blonde locks away from her face she styled her glossy locks in a ponytail whilst she painted her pout with red lipstick.

Concealing her lithe frame, the mother-of-three donned a loose green Tommy Hilfiger jumper, wrapping up with a chunky black scarf.

She finished off the look by donning a myraid of gold rings which complemented her delicate hooped earrings.

Lily soared to fame with her first single Smile, which reached Number 1 in the UK in 2006, ending the year as the country’s 11th most successful song.

In recent years she has slowed down her music career and used her platform to discuss politics as a staunch supporter of the Labour Party.

However, Lily is still keen to inspire aspiring young singers, and recently offered advice to female musicians.

She told the BBC: ‘There are more girls getting involved in songwriting and production and it’s brilliant. Things are happening.’

Explaining that truth and honesty is ‘all I really had to offer’ she added: ‘As long as I honed my craft and made sure I was being as honest and truthful as possible then it justifies it.’

She also said: ‘Get to know yourself because people will always connect to truth and honesty when it comes to music.’
