‘Life Itself’ Actress Olivia Cooke Talks About Her Happy Place, Weirdest Quirk, and Her Kylie Minogue Mantra

For Cosmopolitan‘s September issue, we sat down with Life Itself star Olivia Cooke for a “Quickie” interview about her guilty pleasures, anxieties, and mantra—

Common misconception about me: That I’m American (I’m British) and that I’m a fully functioning adult.

My happy place: The park at the bottom of my road in New York City, sitting in the back of a cinema, or at sundown cocktails with my mates.

I get my news from: The New York Times for the stuff I ought to know about and my pal Jordan for the stuff I ought not to know about (i.e., gossip).

Everyone in their 20’s should: Stop worrying about things that haven’t even happened to them yet. And wash your sheets once a week.

I have a major weakness for: McVitie’s Digestive Biscuits and PG Tips English Breakfast Tea.

The last time I was nervous: I went to a barbecue a few days ago. Why did this make me anxious? I have no idea.

My weirdest quirk: Apparently, I chatter my teeth in my sleep.

My mantra: A Kylie Minogue lyric: “I’m spinning around, move out of my way.”
