It’s business as usual for Kate Middleton and Prince William today amid the increasing reports there are “tensions” behind the scenes with newylweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid tribute to the five people killed in a helicopter crash at Leicester City’s ground, leaving a floral memento in their memory. The couple knew the club’s owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who died with four others when the aircraft came down in October, and they were met by members of his family.
It marks the couple’s first public appearance since the myriad reports that there are changes afoot behind palace gates at Kensington Palace and not all for the better. What particularly seems to have captivated public attention is how the Duchess of Sussex is fitting into her new royal role and a fixation between her relationship with her sister-in-law.
While the anti-Meghan sentiment continues, with royal reporters stating that she is seen as “difficult” with staff, the Telegraph wrote yesterday that Kate was left “in tears” after a bridesmaid fitting with daughter Princess Charlotte earlier this year in the run-up to the royal wedding.
“Kate had only just given birth to Prince Louis and was feeling quite emotional,” two separate sources told the paper. The Sun confirmed the reports, saying that the “pressure” of the big day became too much. It was also reported that Meghan and Harry were both left in tears when her father Thomas Markle pulled out of walking her up the aisle just days before the wedding.
Earlier this month, Meghan and Harry confirmed they are planning a move from their two-bedroom cottage at the palace in favour of Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, near where they exchanged vows in May.

Another element is that they are said to want some physical distance between William and Kate and are considering having an entirely independent London space, which is in keeping with the general opinion that the pair want to raise their child as normal as possible.
“The initial plan was for Harry and Meghan to move out of their cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace and into one of the main apartments,” an insider told The Sun.
“But there has been a bit of tension between the brothers. Now Harry and Meghan don’t want to live next to William and Kate and want to strike out on their own.”
Similarly, the Daily Mail reported earlier this week that they “don’t want to live next door to William and Catherine.”
“They will soon have separate offices and separate lives, so it would make sense for them to live further afield,” a source told the paper.
“There is no reason why their London home has to be at Kensington Palace. There are plenty of other options, including using their own money to buy their own place.
