He has been in The Only Way Is Essex since the first scene aired in 2010.
But reports surfaced on Friday that James ‘Arg’ Argent had been axed from TOWIE, after a lengthy break away from the show in a Thai rehab centre.
However, this information has been denied by those at TOWIE, with an official spokesperson explaining that while he won’t appear on the current 20th season of the show, he will be ‘returning fully’ in the future.

The Only Way Is… Out! TOWIE favourite James ‘Arg’ Argent will take an extended break from reality series following his stint in a Thai rehab facility
The ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘We are pleased that James is home and that he’s made such positive progress.
‘However we have mutually agreed that he should take some further time before he returns to TOWIE fully.’
This flies in the face of a previous report, given by an anonymous source to The Sun, which said: ‘Arg loves TOWIE and was hoping he would make a cameo in the final few episodes of the series. But bosses believe after a lengthy stint in a rehab, being rushed back into the fold would not be in the best interests of Arg and other cast members.
Fit and healthy: A recuperative ten week stay in Thailand has clearly had the desired effect on James ‘Arg’ Argent, whose slimmer physique has already won an enthusiastic response from fans
‘He was also told a full-time return is unlikely unless there was a dramatic improvement in his lifestyle.’
The aforementioned ‘lifestyle’ refers to Arg’s apparent drugs scandal, when he was suspended from the programme in 2014 after testing positive for cocaine.
Arg, 29, only seemed to want to make a change at the start of this year, when hetook it upon himself in February to check into a rehab facility while his ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright was competing on the winter sports show The Jump in Austria.
Then and now: Argent’s fluctuating weight was well in evidence during a trip to Spain in 2014 (L), but he looked comparatively slimmer while visiting a Thai water park in April (R)
Step by step: The TV personality has also shared images of himself clambering up a waterfall in his quest to get fitter and stronger
Since this, a flurry of social media posts have been cropping up over the last few weeks, showing him looking happier and slimmer, seemingly reaping the rewards of a detox.
But an appearance in season 20 looks to be off the cards – hopefully paving the way for a return in season 21 instead, fitter and healthier.
The decision was apparently discussed with TOWIE bosses on Friday morning.
Arg spent 10 weeks in Thailand and returned to the United Kingdom on Thursday morning.
New recruit: The show may have lost Arg for now but they look set to gain a newbie as Love Island winner Cara De La Hoyde is in talks to join as a full-time cast member. And she’ll no doubt be involved in some major storylines as she’s just split from her boyfriend Nathan Massey, who she met on the dating show last year (both pictured)

And she’ll no doubt be involved in some major storylines as she’s just split from her boyfriend Nathan Massey, who she met on the dating show last year.
A source explained: ‘Cara is expected to sign on the dotted line – she has got lots to say and TOWIE bosses know that fans are really interested in her relationship with Nathan and their split.
‘Everyone is desperate to find out the real reason why she split with Nathan and by joining the show she promises to reveal just that.’
