So how does golfing legend Greg Norman inspire Jennifer Hawkins, the face of Myer?

“[Norman] posts some really good quotes. I find them really inspiring,” she said.
Hawkins, 33, said she also follows musicians, such as Beyonce – “I love how musicians live” – and interior design accounts.
With her husband, Jake Wall, Hawkins has a tequila label and a construction business, as well as a swimwear brand and fake tan range.
So does she see herself as a business role model?

“I don’t like to categorise myself but that would be very flattering. Honestly, I just enjoy what I do with business and representing a brand like Myer you are a voice. I’m not just a model as such. I’ve never thought of myself like that.
“Your life changes and evolves as you move through your 20s and 30s and … I’m 33 and living life and enjoying it.”
While Hawkins has enjoyed a relatively scandal-free career, she said attention on past events, such as her dealings with Donald Trump in her time as Miss Universe, were “part and parcel of the industry”.

“People are nostalgic and look back on what they have done. Everyone has a colourful life. No one is one dimensional and neither am I.”
On Wednesday morning, a breakfast television program showed footage of Hawkins suffering a wardrobe malfunction at a shopping centre appearance in 2004.
“I’m OK with that. [During that interview] I was like, ‘Yeah, OK.’ It’s my life and I can’t change it.”
On Thursday, Myer will launch its summer 2017 range with two events in Sydney. A lunch for about 100 key media, VIPs and celebrities will showcase what Hawkins describes as the “clean and crisp” designer collections at a lavish home in Coogee. That night, 250 guests will attend a beach bash at Bronte, where Myer will unveil its focus on swimwear, denim and party wear.

After 11 years with Myer, Hawkins, whose current contract runs until November 2018, said preparing for the twice-yearly season launches is still “quite a big deal”.
She hits the gym – “I do something every day” – and brushes up on the latest trends.
“They are showcasing lots of natural fibres, raw fabrics, navy, black. I love the embroidery, the boho prints and patterns,” she said.
While a number of key Australian designer brands have departed Myer in the past six months, the launch will introduce several new names, including We Are Kindred.
The shows will also feature Australian international models Aleyna FitzGerald, Chantal Monaghan and Elyse Taylor.
