Fabolous and girlfriend Emily Bustamante’s father are so close that he’s willing to testify on the rapper’s behalf if the domestic violence case against him goes to trial.
Sources told TMZ the two men have become incredibly tight since the March altercation in which Fabolous allegedly knocked out Emily B’s teeth and threatened to shoot her and her father.
According to NorthJersey.com, Fabolous allegedly got into a fight with Emily in which he punched her seven times, severely damaging her two front teeth. After the attack, she reportedly asked her father and brother to come to the couple’s house and get rid of his two guns, fearing he’d use them to kill her. When Fabolous discovered the guns were missing, he allegedly threatened to kill Emily, her father and brother.
Following the incident, the rapper, whose real name is John David Jackson, turned himself in and was arrested on charges of assaulting the “Love and Hip-Hop: New York” star and making terroristic threats.
According to TMZ, the rapper called her father the next day to iron things out, and the two have been on good terms ever since.
Last week, a New Jersey grand jury indicted Fabolous on four counts related to the incident, one for domestic violence with significant bodily injury, two for threatening to kill and one for possession of a weapon.
The rapper and reality star are still together. They share two children.
Reps for both Fabolous and Emily did not respond requests for comment.
