This is just so awful.
Controversial director Roman Polanski has been accused by artist Marianne Barnard of sexually assaulting her when she was only 10 years old. Barnard’s admission comes amid Harvey Weinstein‘s own sexual misconduct scandal.

However, this is just the latest child sexual assault claim that has been brought against the 84-year-old filmmaker. In case you forgot, Roman fled the U.S. in 1978 after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. Smh.
Earlier this month, Marianne confessed on Twitter:

Marianne’s allegations have since garnered international attention as she told The Sun specifics about her unsavory experience with Polanski. Per Marianne, she met the industry vet in Malibu back in 1975 for a photo shoot. At first, Roman had her pose on top of some rocks while wearing a bikini, but as the day went on, he requested that she fully undress.
“First he was taking pictures of me in the bikini, then it was with the coat then he said take off the bikini top, which I was comfortable with as I was only 10 and I often ran around with no top on…But then he wanted me to take my bikini bottoms off—I started to feel very uncomfortable.”
The model then realized that her mother had disappeared from the set, leaving her vulnerable to Polanski’s predatory ways. She continued:
“I don’t know where she went and I didn’t really register her leaving but she was no longer there. Then he molested me.”
Sadly, Barnard’s experience with Roman has left her with PTSD and claustrophobia issues. So sad.
Although it’s taken some time for Marianne to step forward, she’s doing everything in her power to take Polanski down. Not only has she filed an official report with the LAPD‘s sex crimes unit, but she’s also started a petition to have Roman removed from The Academy.
“I felt terribly conflicted that I have been silent all this time and all these women are bravely coming forward and I thought to myself I can’t in good conscious knowing what I know—and having gone through what I’ve gone through—not speak out. Even though it puts me in a very bad—even dangerous position—with my mom and Polanski and other people who are involved, I can’t be silent any more.”
We couldn’t be prouder of Marianne for speaking up. In fact, Barnard’s accusation is the fifth one painting Polanski as a child rapist.
Perhaps it’s time for Roman to truly be excommunicated from Tinseltown?? Oh, and some jail time would be nice too. Just a thought.
