End of an era: The host of the show has been involved in the Big Brother format since 2007, eventually going on to take the reins as the series’ presenter in 2013

Seemingly a nod to the fact that the reality series was concluding on the same day the Spice Girls announced their comeback, it seemed the lyrics to the girl band’s 1998 single resonated with Emma, 42, having always admitted that she is a Big Brother super fan, and that hosting it was her dream job.

The final will air live on Channel 5, and will see either Cian Carrigan, Zoe Jones, Cameron Cole and Akeem Griffths be the last ever winner of the long-running surveillance series.

Taking to Twitter in a touching video she wrote: ‘I’m in Manchester working on The £100K Drop so I can’t be with you guys tonight.

‘I really wanted to come by and I just wanted to say good luck Emma. You are amazing and brilliant. Good luck Rylan. I know it’s going to be very emotional. I hope you have a great night.

Brooke Berry and Sian Hamshaw were the two contestants to fall at the last hurdle on Friday night’s episode of the show.

As Brooke left the house she announced to her housemates ‘you’re all in the final’, unaware that another of the contestants would shortly be following her out of the door.

Hot on her heels after Emma announced the further surprise elimination, was self-confessed ‘chav’ Sian, who strutted out wearing a floor length metallic gown.

Emma said that Sian was the ‘happiest’ housemate she has ever seen exit the house, and she agreed that she was happy to leave the house.

The presenter told Sian that everyone in the house thought that she was the winner, but she dismissed the claims saying that she couldn’t win because she ‘works in the market’.

Speaking about her experience, she said: ‘I loved it. All day I have been saying I would rather go today because I don’t feel nervous.

‘I feel right calm now so I will be alright. It means I don’t have to sit in that room for hours on Monday where you can’t smoke.’

On who she thinks will win the show on Mondy, Sian added: ‘I think Cameron is going to win’

Generally speaking, Sian didn’t appear to struggle with 50 days inside the house, saying: ‘I found it fine I did not have a problem with nominations ….it were easy.’

Discussing her experience with Emma, Brooke said that she struggled this week after not receiving her letter from home.

Emma complimented her ability to get on with all of her housemates, before asking her who she noticed had changed during the show.

In response, Brooke gushed over friendships she had made with people she would never cross paths with on the outside world.

Double eviction: Brooke was just three days shy of making the final before she was evicted during the last ever semi-final

She added: ‘I have not seen this many people in 50 days it is so weird’

When asked if she was upset not to make the final Brooke said ‘I love them all and I want them to be there, everything I went in there to do I did. I did not come here solely to be in the final or win. I came here to make connections’

She said: ‘It was the craziest experience of my entire life. I am never that emotional but I cried more in there than in past few years of my life!’
