Ariana Grande Scores First No. 1 On Billboard Hot 100

Ariana Grande has scored her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with “Thank U, Next.” The song Debuted in the top spot, making Grande the first female artist to achieve the feat since Adele‘s “Hello” hit the top in 2015.

Overall, “Thank u, Next” is the 32nd single to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100.

The lyrics of “Thank u, next” references Grande’s past relationships with stars including late Mac Miller, Big Sean and ex-fiance Pete Davidson. “One taught me love / One taught me patience / One taught me pain,” she sings on the track.

The song is Grande’s 11th Hot 100 top 10 and 35th Hot 100 entry. In September this year, her “God Is a Woman” reached No. 8 on the list. She made her Hot 100 debut in April 2013 with “The Way” featuring Mac Miller, which peaked at No. 9.

In 2014, Grande’s “Problem,” which featured Iggy Azalea, rose to the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

According to Billboard, “Thank u, Next” received 55.5 million U.S. streams and 81,000 downloads in the week ending November 8.
