Meet Lalonie Davis. She’s a 17-year-old college student and artist who is firing back at haters who dare question her body-positive stance on armpit hair.
“A body hair positivity post to remind you all that what I do with my body is MY choice,” she wrote on Instagram after she got some criticism.
“You don’t have to like it, but please know that misogynistic opinions that shame girls for having body hair while ignoring boys who do will never get me to change who I am,” she continued. “I will post what I want and do what I want with my body. Baby girls don’t ever let anyone ever make you feel bad for being who you are or doing what you want to do. You are deserving of self respect and love no matter the decisions you make with your body.”
She concluded with, “Body hair is normal and so are you. It’s okay to do what you want to do with your body. I love you guys. 💕”
There were tons of supportive comments, but since this is the Internet, a few gross, bored people came for her, because that’s what gross, bored people do. Some told her she was “nasty,” and others told her to kill herself. Yeah, that’s the kind of thing a troll says to a teen girl on the Internet.
Again, her response was epic.
“Y’all think body hair on girls is gross, I think misogyny is grosser 🤷🏾♀️,” she responded, brilliantly.
