Two things that almost definitely should never ever mix: bodily fluids and dessert. But don't tell that to this bakery in Malaysia, which created a pimple cake — basically a Dr. Pimple Popper edible game. Yup, it's a cake in the shape of a face, featuring zits that can actually be squeezed and "popped" as more cake rises up — just like an oozing whitehead. It's so realistic that the video is undeniably nausea-inducing.
Unsurprisingly, the gross pimple cake is actually starting to catch on — gag gift (literally) or not. The Cakescape, the bakery behind the dessert, told Mashable that it has already sold about 20 of these cakes in the past year, and more orders keep rolling in. For the easily grossed out, fret not. The Cakescape also sells several other delicious treats with more appetizing themes, including unicorns, Harry Potter, and a funfetti-popcorn gem.
Sadly, this isn't the first time that pimple-related foods have burst (sorry) onto the scene. Last summer, Dr. Pimple Popper (a.k.a. Los Angeles-based dermatologist Sandra Lee) shared very realistic-looking pimple cupcakes, complete with flesh-colored fondant and lemon curd puss. And the trend is not just limited to desserts: A New York City restaurant sparked strong reactions last year when they created a "burger bomb," a cheese-filled bun on top of a burger that, when cut, squirted out liquid cheese.
As far as pus-related foods go, the pimple cake is both interactive and likely delicious. Watch the video, below, if you can stomach it.
