UPDATE (May 31, 2017 3:45 p.m. EST): OK, it’s really happening. We no longer have to rely on sketchy Instagram and Twitter accounts for our Fenty Beauty news. Rihanna herself just gave us the confirmation we have been patiently waiting for. The singer/future beauty mogul posted the big announcement on both her Instagram and Twitter with a black-and-white picture of the Fenty Beauty By Rihanna logo and the words “coming fall 2017” underneath. Yup, Fenty Beauty is on its way this year, just as we were hoping. In her caption, Rihanna wrote, “You ready? @fentybeauty new generation of beauty… coming this FALL!” Um, if you must know, Rihanna, we’ve never been so ready for a beauty brand in our entire lives.
Rihanna also shared a link to the official Fenty Beauty website. Here, you can sign up to “join da family,” as Rihanna says. We’re guessing adding yourself to the mailing list will let you be one of the first people to find out when you can finally shop Rihanna-approved makeup. Our fingers are still crossed for a highlighter.

The chance to shine bright like Rihanna is finally upon us. After slaying us with her forever-sold-out Puma creepers and Marie Antoinette-themed athleisure collection, the singer is adding a makeup line to her resume. We’ve known about Fenty Beauty for about a year now, but we’re just now getting solid hints at what it will include and when it will drop. Also, you’ll be able to shop it at a beauty store you most likely already frequent. What more could a beauty lover ask for?
The release date of Fenty Beauty came from an unexpected source: a makeup artist who goes by @urbandoll on Twitter. She posted a picture of an ad with Rihanna gorgeously made up in neutral and pink tones, and the tweet read, “Fenty Beauty by @rihanna coming exclusively to Sephora in September.” That’s only four months away — not that we’re counting. (Just kidding, we totally are. Rihanna is several Allure editors’ ultimate makeup inspo.)
We had a feeling Fenty Beauty would be sold at Sephora because Kendo Beauty started looking for a global makeup artist for the new beauty brand back in February. Kendo Beauty also produces Kat Von D and Marc Jacobs Beauty, which are both highly-beloved Sephora mainstays.
As for what Fenty Beauty will include, Rihanna, teased an upcoming product herself. At a recent Fenty Puma event, someone asked her what highlighter she was wearing. The answer was caught on video and posted on Twitter. In the short clip, you can catch her saying, “It’s mine. It’s a secret until September.” See, we weren’t playing when we said you’ll be able to shine bright like Rihanna. As random as @urbandoll’s tweet may be. We basically got confirmation about when Fenty Beauty will come out from the boss herself.
While we get ourselves emotionally, physically, and emotionally for Fenty Beauty’s September launch, you can shop the next best thing. The blindingly bright Melt Cosmetics Digital Dust Highlights were created by Rihanna’s makeup artist Lora Arellano. It must have graced Rihanna’s cheeks at some point, right? We’ll be sure to keep you updated about all things Fenty Beauty as more information become available.
